Imagine every hit being exactly where it's supposed to be. Spot on, or intentionally late or early, whatever the part needs. Imagine it just feeling right. Every time.

Imagine a rough mix that already sounds better than all of your previous final mixes - without a single active plugin!

Imagine your songs having exactly the desired impact, perfectly getting the energy and emotion across.

Imagine having full control over the vibe and feel of any song you work on:

• "I'll make this part a little late and laid back, so it feels heavy and thick."
• "Let's rush it a bit here to make it more aggressive."
• "This part needs to be spot-on and super tight, so that the next can be loose and feel wide and big."
• "Amazing take! Let's see if we can enhance it even further."
• "I loved that one section! Absolutely fantastic. There's just this one hit that's slightly late, but I can fix that real quick. No problem. Let's try and keep this take because everything else was perfect."

Unfortunately, that's not the reality for most home studio producers and DIY musicians...

Your situation right now (and the things you're telling yourself) probably sound more like this:

"Yeah, it's not the best take, but it will probably do. Nobody will notice the mistakes once it's mixed." 

➡️ They will notice the mistakes!

"What do you mean this doesn't sound tight? I can't hear the problem."

➡️ You have to learn how to spot those details in the playing and how they affect the feel of the song!

"All my favorite records have sloppy performances on them. It's the mistakes that make them great!"

➡️ Typical amateur excuse. They are great despite the mistakes, not because of them! Also, there's a difference between feel and obvious mistakes.

"Man, I can't stand modern music that's all edited to death, so I'd rather keep it organic."

➡️ Another typical amateur excuse. "I'll keep it organic" is often a nice way of saying "it's not played well, it will never sound professional, but I don't know how to fix it". Editing doesn't mean moving everything 100% to the grid. It's not black or white. Editing has to serve the music.

"I've tried fixing this for hours!!! ?? No matter what I do, I can't get it right and it seems like I'm always introducing new problems instead of just solving the original one."

➡️ You don't know your tools well enough and don't have a systematic approach to editing. You're wasting time using a trial and error approach without really knowing what you're doing.

"A good performance is where it's at! A good player delivering an amazing take doesn't need any editing!"

➡️ Another typical amateur excuse. Every professional knows that even the best musicians in the world get their performances edited. Not every time, not as a rule. And certainly not to compensate for a lack of talent. It's done whenever the final result could feel even better than it already does. Whatever it takes. 

"Yes, I know how to cut move and do crossfades, but doing this for an entire song or album worth of drums? On practically every hit? Are you kidding me?? This is going to take forever!"

➡️ You don't know your tools well enough. There are ways to significantly speed up this process or even do it completely automatically with just a few clicks!
